Grady, a 2014 graduate, was a four-year member of the Bearcats' baseball team, appearing in 205 games in his career and serving as a team captain from 2012-14. As a junior, Patrick received the M.V. Wells Award as Lander's Male Athlete of the Year, named Second-Team All-American by the NCBWA, and Third-Team All-American by Daktronics. As a senior, Grady helped lead the Bearcats to their most successful season in school history as Lander won a school-record 52 games and advanced to the College World Series. Patrick also became the first player in program history to be named Preseason All-American. He would set the single season records for doubles (25) and runs scored (92). He, along with teammate Erik Lunde holds the record for most games played and started with 61. Patrick was named Peach Belt Conference Player of the Year, Southeast Region Player of the Year, and was a consensus All-American. Grady was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays and played professionally for two years following his senior year.Â
