Jeff May (1969-73), a native of Blue Creek, Ohio, is one of two Lander men's basketball players to have his jersey retired. Named NAIA All-American honorable mention three times, May was also NAIA All-District 6 four times, team MVP four years and led the team in scoring three years. Now serving as Lander's athletics director, May is the all-time scoring leader, having scored 1,987 points in his career. He averaged 23.3 points in the 1970-71 season. He also holds the single-game scoring record of 49 points. Inducted 1999.
