Men’s Cross Country Places 20th at NCAA Regionals

WINGATE, N.C. – The Lander men's cross country team capped its 2025 season with a 20th-place finish at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championship on Saturday morning — the program's best regional result since being reinstated in 2017.

Junior Noah Chevalier once again led the Bearcats, clocking 34:34.36 to pace Lander for the fifth time this fall. Freshman Adam Bedenbaugh was the second Bearcat across the line in 36:03.64, closing out an impressive debut season.

Junior Jonathan Cummings (37:23.20), sophomore Griffin Freeman (37:56.35), and sophomore Benjamin Carroll (38:02.31) rounded out the scoring five for the Blue and Gold.

Sophomore Seth Hammon finished in 39:24.10, while senior Ethan Waites wrapped up his collegiate career with a 39:39.58 in his final race for the Bearcats.

The Bearcats now turn their attention to the indoor track and field season, which will begin in the coming weeks.
