Chevalier Paces Lander for Second Straight Year at Eye Opener

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Noah Chevalier ran a 27:48 eight-kilometer race to pace the Lander Men's Cross Country team to a 13th-place finish at the Eye Opener Invitational at the Milliken Arboretum on Friday evening. This was a three-place improvement from the 2023 meet where the Bearcats placed 16th. Division I Furman took the overall meet win while the Bearcats placed 7th amongst the Division II teams at the meet.

Natheer Suied was the second Lander runner across the line as he finished the 4.97-mile course in 28:29. Seth Hammond was the next finisher in a time of 29:14 while Zack Lang and Cooper Mayo rounded out the scoring five for Lander. Lang finished in 30:07 while Mayo ran 30:16.

Ethan Waites and Evan Windsor made up the would-be tiebreaking sixth and seventh spots. Waites, running this course for the fifth time in his Lander career, finished in 30:35 while Windsor finished in 31:39.

The Men of Lander will be back in action next Saturday, September 13th, as they travel to the University of North Georgia - Gainesville Campus to take part in the UNG XC Invitational. This will also be the site of the PBC Championship later in the year.
