GREENWOOD - The No. 14 Lander men's tennis team won its eighth straight match Sunday afternoon when the Bearcats defeated Georgia Southwestern, 9-0, in a Peach Belt Conference match at The Joe Cabri Courts.

Lander improves to 8-1 overall and 2-0 in the PBC, while Georgia Southwestern drops to 3-6, 0-4. The shutout was Lander's sixth of the season.

In singles, No. 1 Paul-Henri Arrigoni (L) def. V. Pinones-Haltenhof (G), 6-1, 6-2; No. 2 Levan Clark (L) def. Ignacio Donnet (G), 6-0, 6-1; No. 3 Christopher Mattson (L) def. Sebastian Munoz (G), 6-2, 6-0; No. 4 Juan Manrique (L) def. Brandon Vann (G), 6-2, 6-0; No. 5 Maxime Desmars (L) def Adrian Knight (G), 6-0, 6-1; and No. 6 Carlos Marques (L) def. Malcolm Gilliam (G), 6-1, 6-1.

In doubles, No. 1 Clark/Frances (LU) def. Pinones-Haltenhof/Bartz (G), 8-0; No. 2 Willers/Mattsson (L) def. Donnet/Munoz (G), 8-1; and No. 3 Arrigoni/Desmars (L) def. Carson/Knight (G), 8-0.
