Lander Men’s Tennis Earns No. 4 Seed, Opens PBC Tournament Against Middle Georgia

AUGUSTA, Ga. - The Lander men's tennis team is set to begin postseason play as the No. 4 seed in the 2026 Peach Belt Conference Tournament, which gets underway Friday, April 24, in Columbus, Georgia.

The nationally ranked No. 22 Bearcats will face No. 5 seed Middle Georgia Knights in the opening round at 3 p.m. at the John C. Walden Tennis Center. Columbus State hosts the event for the sixth consecutive year.

Lander enters the matchup with confidence after defeating Middle Georgia 5-2 during the regular season. The Bearcats closed conference play with a 3-3 record and an 11-5 overall record and will look to carry that momentum into the tournament as they aim for a deep run.

A victory on Friday would send Lander into Saturday's semifinal round against top-seeded Columbus State, which earned a first-round bye after going unbeaten in league play and capturing the regular-season title.

Semifinal matches are scheduled for Saturday, April 25, with the championship set for Sunday at 1 p.m.
