AUGUSTA, Ga. – Mitchell Festi claimed the Peach Belt Conference Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week award following Saturday's 13-11 season-opening win over Coker, the conference office announced this afternoon.

Festi, a junior transfer from Newberry, had a notable impact in his first game in a Bearcat uniform by causing three turnovers and grabbing six ground balls.

Both marked single-game career-bests for Festi in his third season of collegiate lacrosse.

The Bearcats will be home again this Saturday as they host the South Atlantic Conference's Lincoln Memorial in a 2 p.m. contest.
