Women Fourth, Men Fifth in PBC Indoor Track and Field Preseason Poll

MARTINEZ, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference released its Indoor Track and Field Preseason Poll on Monday, with the Lander women picked fourth and the men selected fifth as voted on by the league's coaches.

Embry-Riddle, an affiliate member in the sport, was tabbed to win the league for the third straight year.

Lander enters the new season after a strong showing at last year's PBC Indoor Championships, where the men finished third and the women placed fourth. The Bearcats were highlighted by Michael Balkman capturing the program's first-ever individual PBC track and field title with his win in the 400 meters. In total, Lander earned six podium finishes at the 2025 championships.

The Bearcats open their 2026 indoor season at the Tryon Winter Classic on Jan. 16–17 at Tryon International Equestrian Center in Mill Spring, N.C.
