Lander Volleyball Earns Fourth Straight NCAA Tournament Berth

GREENWOOD - For the fourth consecutive season, the Lander volleyball team is heading to the NCAA Division II Tournament after posting a 20-10 record through the regular season and Peach Belt Conference Tournament.

The Bearcats earned an at-large bid as the No. 7 seed in the Southeast Region and will face second-seeded Lenoir-Rhyne, representing the South Atlantic Conference, which enters the postseason at 22-7. The regional will be hosted by top-seeded Wingate (28-1), the SAC Tournament champion. Wingate defeated Lenoir-Rhyne 3-0 in the conference title match.

Lander rides into the NCAA Tournament following an impressive run in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament. Entering as the No. 3 seed, the Bearcats defeated sixth-seeded Middle Georgia 3-1 in the quarterfinals and outlasted No. 2 seed Augusta 3-2 in a five-set thriller before falling to top-seeded Flagler 3-2 in a tightly contested championship match.

The Bearcats look to build on last year's historic postseason performance, when they advanced to the Sweet 16 for the first time in program history.

Lander and Lenoir-Rhyne will meet on Thursday, Dec. 4, at 1:30 p.m. at Cuddy Arena in Wingate, N.C.
