Four Bearcats Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

GREENWOOD - Four Lander University volleyball student-athletes were recognized Tuesday as members of the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Women's Volleyball Team, honoring excellence both on the court and in the classroom.

Senior outside hitter Katie Miller, senior middle blocker Alyssa Tegeler, sophomore middle blocker Amelia May, and sophomore libero Emmi Cheek earned the distinction after meeting CSC's rigorous academic and athletic criteria.

To be named Academic All-District honorees, student-athletes must carry a minimum cumulative 3.50 grade point average. They are also required to be at least sophomores academically and athletically, as well as to compete in at least 90 percent of their institution's matches or start in at least 66 percent of matches played.

Miller, a senior outside hitter, was selected as a CSC Academic All-America finalist and will advance to the national ballot. First, second, and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on Jan. 13, 2026.

As middle blockers, Tegeler and May played key roles in Lander's front row throughout the season and earned recognition for their efforts, while Cheek was honored as the team's starting libero.

The CSC Academic All-District Women's Volleyball teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes across NCAA and NAIA divisions for their combined performances in athletics and academics. All Academic All-District selections were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot.
