Tempe, Ariz. — The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced their ITA Scholar-Athletes and All-Academic Teams and the Lander women's tennis team was one of 112 Division II programs to be awarded the All-Academic Team distinction. The Bearcats also had seven individuals earn the Scholar-Athlete award alongside 752 other athletes nationwide.
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must meet the following requirements:
- Have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale),
- All student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and
- All varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must have a GPA of at least 3.5 for the current academic year and be listed on the institution's eligibility form.
The individuals honored were
Fe Batoon,
Hannah Panchal,
Lily Connelly, Maria Zaza, Mile Eslborg, Rebecca Latty, and
Shea Connelly. Panchal was also honored as the Peach Belt Conference's Elite 18 Award Winner as the highest GPA at the PBC Women's Championship.
