GREENWOOD—Lander University Women's Rugby Coach Ken Pape announced his resignation to accept the head coaching position at Wheeling University. 

Pape has led the program for the last three seasons and has seen the team become one of the top programs in College Rugby. He led the Bearcats to the 15's NIRA National Championship in the fall and has the team playing in the 7's College Rugby Championship tournament this weekend in Maryland. A national search for the next head coach will begin immediately. 

"We want to thank Coach Pape for all his hard work and dedication to the Lander Women's Rugby program," said Athletic Director Brian Reese. "He leaves the program in a great position, and we wish him well at Wheeling."
