CHARLOTTE, N.C. -
Zander Allen ran a PR time of 26:47.24 as he became the first Bearcat since Trent Powers at the 2021 Koala Classic to place in the top-ten of a race when he crossed the line in ninth on Friday evening at the Royals XC Challenge at McAlpine Creek Park.
Allen's PR was one of five personal bests set by Bearcat runners at one of the fastest courses in the region.
Jonathan Nunez was next across the line in 28th for the Blue and Gold in a personal best of 28:05.29 and he was followed soon after by
Noah Chevalier in 38th in a time of 28:22.44.
Ethan Waites finished next in 31:50.14 followed soon after by
Riley Bird in 32:53.31.
Trey Sloan was the third Bearcat to score a PR and rounded out the scoring five in a time of 36:10.9.
Nathan Purvis and
Jonathan Campbell finished back to back in PR times of 40:33.28 and 40:54.57, respectively.
Both the men's and women's cross country teams will return to action in two weeks as they travel to Gainesville, Ga. to compete at the PBC Cross Country Championships.
