Greenwood, S.C. - Head coach Samantha Pinchoff has announced the spring portion of the women's tennis schedule ahead of the new year.
Coach Pinchoff led the Bearcats to their best record under her tenure, finishing 14-9 in 2022. Lander was also nationally ranked last season, with their highest team Intercollegiate Tennis Association ranking of 48th in Division II.
Women's tennis will take part in three exhibitions to start the spring. Lander hosts Presbyterian on Jan. 21st, followed by back-to-back away trips to Georgia Gwinnett (Jan. 26) and Erskine (Jan. 29).
Lander starts the regular season at the City of Florence Championships (Feb. 3-4) then return home for six straight matches at the Joe Cabri Tennis Center. Carson Newman and Lees-McRae are the first two teams for the Bearcat home stand beginning Feb. 10th and Feb. 11th respectively. Women's tennis has a second match with Erskine on Feb. 16th and welcomes Emmanuel (Feb. 22), Newberry (Feb. 25), and Francis Marion (Mar. 2) after.
The Bearcats travel to Augusta for their first conference game on March 3rd, then return home to face the Converse Valkyries on Mar. 18th before the continuation of Peach Belt competition. Lander will host North Georgia (Mar. 24) and Young Harris (Mar. 25), followed by a road trip to Georgia College (Mar. 31).
The Blue and Gold travels to Columbus State on April 1st, with a pause in conference action. Mars Hill will visit the Joe Cabri Tennis Center on April 4th, with the Bearcats heading to Gaffney, S.C. to face Limestone on April 6th.
Women's tennis closes out the regular season against familiar Peach Belt foes, hosting Flagler (Apr. 14) and visiting Georgia Southwestern (Apr. 22). Matches between Belmont Abbey and USC Sumter fill in the remainder of the regular season with dates to be determined.
The post season begins on April 29th as the Peach Belt Conference Tournament kicks off for three days at Columbus State.
