No. 2 women's basketball meets No. 7 Azusa Pacific on Tuesday in Elite Eight

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 2-seeded Lander women's basketball team meets No. 7-seeded Azusa Pacific in the Elite Eight on Tuesday at 2:45 p.m.

  • Lander is 14-13 all-time in the NCAA Tournament and 14-10 under Kevin Pederson.
  • Lander and Azusa Pacific are meeting for the first time. Tuesday marks the first time the Bearcats have faced a team from California. 
  • The Bearcats boast one of the toughest defenses in the nation this season. Lander's 56.1 points allowed per game ranks 11th in the NCAA. The Bearcats are 16th in three-point field-goal percentage defense (26.2%), 18th in defensive rebounds per game (30.0), and 20th in field-goal percentage defense (35.3%).
