Lander Women’s Basketball Secures No. 8 Seed in 2026 PBC Tournament

GREENWOOD - The Lander women's basketball team secured the No. 8 seed in the 2026 Peach Belt Conference Tournament after concluding the regular season with a 7-13 mark in conference play.

Results across the league fell in favor of the Bearcats on the final weekend, allowing Lander to finish eighth in the standings and clinch a spot in the eight-team field.

The Bearcats will open postseason play on Wednesday, March 4, traveling to Columbus, Georgia, to face top-seeded Columbus State in the quarterfinal round. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

Columbus State enters the postseason ranked No. 11 nationally and No. 3 in the most recent NCAA Southeast Region poll. The Cougars claimed the PBC regular-season title and carry a 24-3 overall record and an 18-2 mark in conference play into the tournament.

With the postseason berth secured, Lander will look to build momentum as it prepares for the conference tournament matchup.
