ALBANY, Ga. – The Lander men's golf team finished first at the Hurricane Invitational for its first win of the year.
The Bearcats shot par on the second day of the tournament, finishing one-over-par. Clayton State finished second shooting five-over-par while host Georgia Southwestern finished third shooting eight-over-par.
Junior Maxime Legros finished tied for second with a five-under-par tournament. Legros shot the lowest among PBC golfers and led the Bearcats in back-to-back tournaments.
Freshman Linus Jonsson finished tied for sixth after shooting one-under-par while sophomore Valentin Peugnet had another top-10 finish for the Bearcats with a tie for eighth-place after shooting par for the tournament. Sophomore Chris Fortenberry was tied for 31st after shooting seven-over-par while redshirt junior Cameron Bell was tied for 64th place after shooting 15-over-par.
The Bearcats will play the role of host for its next competition, as it hosts the Bearcat Classic in Greenwood, S.C. on March 8.
