GAINESVILLE, Ga. – In just their second tournament of the 2025-26 season, the No. 16 Lander men's golf team took home the championship at the Fourth Annual Mizuno Intercollegiate hosted by North Georgia at Chattahoochee Golf Club.
The Bearcats finished 10-under for the week and won by three strokes over the host No. 2 Nighthawks. Heading into today, Lander trailed UNG by five strokes, but the Bearcats shot five-under to the Nighthawks' three-over.
No. 6 Georgia Southwestern moved up to third at five-under, and No. 12 Columbus State was -3 in fourth. No. 5 Lee rounded out the top-five at +1. There were 10 top-25 teams competing in a strong field, and four of them are presently ranked in the top-five.
Noah Curdt was named to the All-Tournament Team after tying for fourth overall at -5. Curdt finished with a two-under 70 today after shooting 69-72 yesterday. He had eight birdies this week and led the field in par-3 scoring in a consistent showing.
Brady Duval (-3) tied for seventh on the leaderboard with a final-round 71. His first two rounds were 70-72 and he tied for first in par-5 scoring this week.
A shot behind him was
Filip Yngfalk (-2). After a 75 to open the tournament, the freshman carded scores of 69 and 70 in the second and third rounds to finish in a tie for 10th. He was T5 in par-5 scoring.
Finishing off the scoring for Lander was
Cathal Penney at even-par in a 19th-place tie. Penney closed with a 72 following rounds of 75 and 69 on Monday.
Edward Rahm was +7 for the week and
Elijah Rohas-Smith (Ind.) was +16.
The Bearcats will be able to enjoy their win for a few weeks before returning to competition in the McCoy Wright Currahee Collegiate Invitational hosted by Anderson from Oct. 6-7. It will be contested at Currahee Club in Toccoa, Georgia.
