STORYLINES

  • Lander owns a 20-4 record all-time against Flagler and has won four in a row over the Saints. In their last 11 wins against Flagler, the Bearcats have not allowed the Saints to score over 75 points.
  • Lander is coming off an 81-61 win at Francis Marion on Saturday, giving the Bearcats a season sweep of the Patriots. 
  • Zamiya Passmore netted 28 points in the win over the Patriots, while Makaila Cange tallied 19 points and 16 rebounds. 
  • Jakiyah Parker made her first appearance in six games, scoring nine points and grabbing three rebounds in 20 minutes of action, all season-high marks.
  • All nine Bearcats who played scored in the victory and Lander forced 17 turnovers in the effort
  • Passmore and Cangé were the only Bearcats to finish in double figures on Saturday, snapping a skid of nine consecutive games with three Bearcats scoring at least 10 points.
  • With the win, Kevin Pederson tied Jay Sparks for the most Peach Belt Conference wins in women's basketball history. Pederson and Sparks both have 206 PBC wins. 
  • Cangé now has eight double-doubles through 12 games this season.
  • Passmore has scored in double figures in 12 of her last 13 games.
  • Lander is currently ranked No. 2 in the WBCA Coaches Poll and has received a number-one vote in each of the last two polls. 
  • The Bearcats are one of nine unbeaten teams in the nation and one of just four to have played at least 10 games this year.
  • Kevin Pederson's squad is currently allowing 54.0 points per game, which is on pace to tie the program record set in 1980-81.
  • The Bearcats have pulled down at least 10 offensive rebounds in 11 of their 12 games this season.
  • Lander defeated Flagler 79-74 on Jan. 27 in St. Augustine, Fla. Passmore led all scorers with 25 points, while Cangé recorded 22 points and 14 rebounds in the victory. 
  • The Bearcats recorded just four steals in the first meeting with Flagler, the fewest they've tallied this season and the fewest in a game since an 82-79 loss to North Georgia on Feb. 27, 2019.
  • Amiaya Melvins ranks second in the PBC with 27 steals and is third in the conference with 2.3 steals per game. 
  • Cangé ranks fifth nationally and leads the conference with 12.8 rebounds per game.
  • Passmore has recorded at least four assists in every game she's played this season.
  • Lander's 33 defensive rebounds against Francis Marion were the most for the Bearcats in the their last seven games.
  • Cangé leads the PBC in offensive rebounds with 48, while Melvins ranks second with 43. 
  • Lander is outscoring its opponents by 20.2 points per game this season, good for seventh nationally. 
  • Miriam Recarte is fourth in the nation with 3.25 blocked shots per game and sixth nationally with 39 blocks on the year.
