GREENWOOD – The Lander volleyball team moved to 10-0 on Saturday afternoon as the Bearcats defeated UNC Pembroke, 3-0, at Finis Horne Arena. Lander took the match 25-13, 25-17, 25-11. With the win, the Bearcats improve to 10-0, (2-0), while the Braves drop to 1-10, (0-2) on the season.

Lander's 10-0 start ties the 2014 team for the best start in program history. 

Maddie Neal led the way for the Bearcats, posting nine kills. Halle Dotson added eight kills, while Hannah McManus contributed a team-high 14 digs. Sophia Perkins dished out a team-high 20 assists and Amanda Medlock set a career-high with six service aces.

The Braves were led by Alicia Paeplow's five kills and six assists. Bailee Jones contributed 14 digs and added eight assists. 

The Bearcats return to action Tuesday, September 20 at 7:00 PM, as they travel to Georgia College for another Peach Belt Conference match.
