DAHLONEGA, Ga. – Rob Prior placed fourth individually and Neal Todd 11th Tuesday to lead the Lander men's golf team to the overall championship at the two-day, three-round North Georgia Fall Invitational held at the par-72, 6,967-yard Achasta Golf Club. Thirteen teams competed in the tournament.
Prior shot a 5-under par 211 (72-70-69), while Todd came in at 216 (70-71-75). Jordan Ainley tied for 16th at 218 (75-68-75), James Bartlett tied for 23rd at 219 (69-75-75), and Carlos Solis tied for 25th at 220 (75-70-75).
The Bearcats, who shot a low 5-under-par 859, had rounds of 286, 279 and 294 to edge second-place Georgia Southwestern by three strokes (862). Columbus State finished third at 865 and was followed by: 4. Carson-Newman 867, 5. Georgia College 875, 6. Clayton State 878, 7. Flagler 880, 8. Newberry 884, 9. North Georgia 889, 10. Shorter 891, 11. Montevallo 897, 12. Young Harris 900, and 13. West Alabama 919.
