GREENWOOD - The Lander men's golf team placed 12th of 18 teams Tuesday in the two-day, three-round Fourth Annual Bearcat Classic, hosted by Lander at the par-72, 6,800-yard Greenwood Country Club.
Belmont Abbey's Adam Hedges (69-66-71) earned medalist honors with a 10-under-par 206 and led the Crusaders to the team title.
Belmont Abbey scored a low 878 and was followed by: 2. USC Aiken 882, 3. Georgia Southwestern 885, 4. Mount Olive 887, 5. Barton 891, 6. Erskine 897, 7. Clayton State 907, 8. Georgia College 911, 9. North Georgia and Newberry 913, 11. Montevallo 915, 12. Lander and Coker 917, 14. Queens 919, 15. King 920, 16. Carson-Newman 930, 17. Lander (2) 938, and 18. Flagler 944.
Individually for Lander, Jordan McColl (75-78-66) tied for fifth with 219, Robert Prior (75-79-71) tied for 24th with 225, Greg McCullough (77-80-81) tied for 79th with 238, Oliver Van Nairn (79-81-80) tied for 85th with 240, and Neal Todd (85-80-77) tied for 88th with 242.
Individually for the Lander second team were: Tucker Nelson (75-80-74) tied for 39th with 229, Max Bell (78-77-75) tied for 44th with 230, Chad Siefert (79-80-76) tied for 71st with 235, Tanner Robb (85-83-76) finished 90th with 244, and Chandler Ayers (86-86-88) finished 98th with 260.
