GREENWOOD – Ashley Walker kept the Lander men's soccer team from getting its first win in the Jeff May Complex when he scored a golden goal on a header in the 101st minute Saturday afternoon in double-overtime to lead Young Harris to a 2-1 non-conference victory against the Bearcats.
Young Harris remains unbeaten at 3-0, while Lander moves to 1-1-1.
Lander took an early 1-0 lead when Brett Jankouskas raced up the left side and fired in a goal from 20 yards out at 15:27.
Darren Shaw tied the game at 1-1 for Young Harris when he headed the ball from in front of the goal on an assist from Walker.
Walker's winning shot came off of one of his own missed headers.
Young Harris outshot Lander, 17-5, and led in corner kicks, 13-2.
Lander goalkeeper Scott Playle tallied five saves, while YHC's Wesly Barnard had one.
