AUGUSTA, Ga. – After his late-game heroics at then-No. 2 North Georgia last week, Declan Okwu has been named the Peach Belt Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

Okwu scored the game-tying goal with 13 seconds to spare in Dahlonega last Wednesday in playing the full 90 minutes of a 3-3 draw. He followed that up by helping the Bearcat defense shut out GSW 2-0 at home Saturday in 72 minutes. It was LU's second shutout of the season.

The Bearcats are now 2-1-2, 1-0-1 PBC and will play their final non-conference match Wednesday night at Francis Marion in Florence. 7 p.m. is the scheduled kick-off time.
