MORROW, Ga. – Jasmine Judge scored a game-high 18 points and led four Lander players in double figures Friday afternoon as the Lander women's basketball team defeated the University of West Georgia, 73-61, in a non-conference game at the Clayton State's Heritage Bank Holiday Classic.

Lander improves to 7-3 overall, while West Georgia slips to 5-6.

Judge, the Peach Belt Conference's all-time leading three-point shooter, connected on 6-of-16 attempts from beyond the arc, while Brittni Johnson chipped in 13 points and Mukia Myrick and Kaylyn Small netted 11 each. Small completed her double-double with a game-high 12 rebounds, while Johnson added a game-high nine assists.

West Georgia was paced by Breonna Mosley, who scored 14 points, while Mone Peoples added 13 points, and Krystal Delph 12 points and eight rebounds.

The Lady Bearcats, who led 40-31 at halftime, connected on 27-of-63 field goals for 42.9 percent, including 9-of-28 threes for 32.1 percent. Lander also sank 10-of-21 foul shots for 47.6 percent.

West Georgia, which outrebounded Lander, 42-39, made 25-of-59 floor shots for 43.1 percent, including 5-of-13 three pointers for 38.5 percent. West Georgia also made 7-of-14 free throws for 50 percent.

After battling to a 6-6 tie to open the game, Lander went on a 13-6 run to take a 19-6 advantage at 15:22 on a three by Judge, two pointers by Myrick, Ciara Lyons, Small, and Johnson and a pair of free throws by Lyons.

West Georgia rallied to cut the lead to 23-21 with 10:43 left in the first half on a Mosley basket, then Lander eased it back to a nine-point lead when Judge nailed another three at 1:28 to give the Lady Bearcats a 40-31 lead.

Lander opened the second half with a 9-0 run to go up 49-32 and maintained a double-digit lead the remainder of the game.
