DURHAM, N.C. - Lander University's Jasmine Judge led all scorers with a game-high 24 points, but the Lady Bearcats couldn't overcome Duke University's size as the Lady Blue Devils claimed a 79-52 exhibition game win Sunday in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Duke is ranked No. 8 in NCAA Division I and Lander is No. 10 in Division II.
Judge, a senior guard from Augusta, Ga., connected on 8-of-10 three pointers, while Janyce Ealey, Brittni Johnson and Kami Phillips had five points each for Lander. Ealey led the team in rebounds with six, while Ciara Lyons and Johnson had a team-high four assists.
Chloe Wells and Chelsea Gray scored 18 points each to lead Duke, while Elizabeth Williams added 17. Haley Peters grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds.
The Lady Bearcats connected on 19-of-52 field goals for 36.5 percent, including 11-of-23 threes for 47.8 percent. The Lady Bearcats also made 3-of-7 foul shots for 42.9 percent.
Duke, which led 43-29 at halftime, connected on 32-of-70 floor shots for 45.7 percent, including 4-of-15 threes (26.7 percnet). The Blue Devils also made 11-of-18 free throws for 61.1 percent.
Lander will open its regular season on Nov. 19-20 when it hosts the Lady Bearcats Tipoff Classic. Lander will play Barton College on Saturday, Nov. 19, and Ferris State on Sunday, Nov. 20.
