PEMBROKE, N.C. - Melissa McCracken posted a double-double Friday night to lead the Lander volleyball team to a 3-1 Peach Belt Conference victory over UNC Pembroke. Lander won, 25-21, 25-20, 19-25, 25-16.
Lander improves to 10-4 overall and 3-2 in the PBC, while UNCP drops to 6-8, 0-2.
McCracken had 10 kills and 20 digs, while Kendall Eayers recorded a game-high 12 digs. Candace LaRocca dished out 32 assists and Chelsey Corgan and Ashley Ferry had 22 and 16 digs respectively. Stephanie Garrett led the Bearcats in service aces with three and LaRocca and Corgan had two each.
UNCP was led by Tiara Anderson (10 kills), Whitney Hanlin (23 assists, 16 digs), and Allie Schneider (nine kills).
Lander will face Francis Marion in a 3 p.m. PBC contest on Saturday in Florence.
