GREENWOOD - Mallory Wasik had 11 kills and Kay Stewart nine to lead the Lander women's volleyball team to a 3-0 non-conference victory over Southern Wesleyan University Thursday night in Horne Arena. Lander downed the Warriors, 25-23, 25-14, 25-18.
Lander improves to 10-3 overall, while Southern Wesleyan slips to 6-5.
Kerri Sorensen added seven kills for the Bearcats, while Magi Nottingham had six kills and 20 digs; Candace LaRocca 31 assists and three service aces; Marina Camps nine digs; and Ashley Ferry nine digs.
Southern Wesleyan was led by Lindsey Torgerson (six kills), Jessica Angeli (five kills, three service aces, 10 digs), Kaitin Wolfe (20 assists, 10 digs), Keni Abercrombie (10 digs) and Katelyn Barnes (five kills).
Lander will face Belmont Abbey and Converse College Saturday afternoon in a tournament in Spartanburg.
