HICKORY, N.C.----The Lander volleyball team improved to 11-2 overall Tuesday night when the Bearcats defeated Lenoir-Rhyne, 3-1 (30-19, 30-19, 27-30, 32-30), in a non-conference match at Shuford Memorial Gymnasium.

Lenoir-Rhyne drops to 9-6 overall.

Kay Stewart and Andrea Griffin led the Bearcat attack with 15 kills each, while Candace LaRocca totaled 28 assists and two service aces. Stewart added seven blocks, while Melissa Trippany tallied 24 digs and Sara Senn had 22 digs and two service aces.
