SPARTANBURG----The Lander women's basketball team placed five players in double figures Tuesday night as the Lady Bearcats defeated Converse College, 108-76, in a non-conference game. The 108 points breaks the school record of 105 set against Brevard College in the 1984-85 season.

Lander improves to 2-3, while Converse falls to 0-4.

Tiara Good led Lander with 29 points and seven rebounds, while LaShonda Chiles added 21 points, Kianna Smith 13 and Stephanie Ponds and TaSheba Butler 10 each. Ponds led Lander in rebounds with 10.

Ashley Arff led the Valkyries with 25 points, while Brandy Williams netted 15.

Lander, which led 60-28 at halftime, will host Southern Wesleyan University at 12 p.m. Saturday in Horne Arena.
