PEMBROKE, N.C.----Setter Lexie Wood tallied 50 assists, while Sarah Harrison posted 14 kills to lead The University of North Carolina at Pembroke to a 3-1 victory over Lander in Peach Belt Conference volleyball action Friday night in the Jones Center. With the win, UNCP picks up its first PBC victory of the year and improves its record to 6-12 overall and 1-2 in the league, while Lander falls to 6-11 and remains winless in the league at 0-4.
Along with Harrison's 14 kills, Kelly Parker ripped 12 as April Newhouse added 11 kills of her own to the UNCP cause.
Kerri Sorensen led the Bobcats with 19 kills, while Sara Senn tallied ten. Lander setter Carly Plecha had a big night as well with 40 assists and eight digs.
Lander will travel to Francis Marion to face the Patriots on Saturday afternoon.
