LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Mitchell Festi of the Lander men's lacrosse team was announced as an Honorable Mention Division II All-American by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Thursday.
Festi was selected to the USILA South Region Third Team earlier this week in addition to his First Team All-Peach Belt Conference honor last month. A junior transfer from Newberry, Festi rounded out his first year as a Bearcat with 26 caused turnovers and 51 ground balls. Both numbers placed Festi firmly inside the top-three in the PBC.
He had three games with three caused turnovers (Coker, North Greenville and Belmont Abbey), 10 games with multiple caused turnovers, and for good measure, Festi scored his first career goal at NGU in March and was also named the conference's Defensive Player of the Week on Feb. 9.
Festi becomes the fifth USILA All-American selection in program history, and fourth recipient, joining Adam Mather (2023),
Carter Wilcox (2024 and 2025) and
Jack Kinney (2025).
