Trio of Bearcats Earn First Career All-Conference Nod

MARTINEZ, Ga. - Three members of the Lander baseball team were named to the Peach Belt Conference All-Conference team for the first time in their careers as the league released its postseason awards on Thursday ahead of this weekend's PBC Baseball Tournament.

Joshua Sanchez earned first team honors, while Oliver Zohn and Brody Winter were named to the second team.

Sanchez picked up his first All-PBC selection after leading the team with 23 appearances and pacing all relievers with 40.2 innings pitched. The right-hander recorded 35 strikeouts and allowed just 37 hits on the season, holding opponents to a .231 batting average. He also threw the first immaculate inning in program history against Middle Georgia on February 14 to seal the series win.

Zohn finished the regular season with a .371 batting average, the highest mark on the team among qualified hitters. He posted a 1.164 OPS and led the Bearcats in doubles (12), RBI (48), total bases (101), and slugging percentage (.669). He became the first Bearcat since 2021 to hit three home runs in a game in Lander's 7-5 win over USC Aiken on April 4.

Winter provided another consistent presence in the lineup, finishing with a 1.021 OPS. He led the team with 11 home runs and ranked second behind Zohn in RBI (45) and slugging percentage (.577). In the series opener against USC Beaufort on April 17, he drove in seven runs, the most by a Bearcat in over a decade.

Lander opens PBC Tournament play at Dolny Stadium on Friday at 4 p.m. against Georgia College.
