Bearcats Compete at Lee and Duke Invitationals

GREENWOOD, S.C. – The Lander track and field teams split competition over the weekend, with distance runners competing at the Lee Fast Break Athletics Invitational and sprinters traveling to the Duke Invitational, combining for multiple school records.

At the Lee Fast Break Athletics Invitational, Lander saw several standout performances in the distance events. Carly Fuel broke the school record in the 10,000 meters with a time of 36:23.52, a mark that ranks 31st in Division II. Noah Chevalier also set a school record in the men's 10,000 meters, finishing in 31:48.85.

Adam Bedenbaugh continued his strong season in the 1500 meters, setting another school record with a time of 4:05.93.

At the Duke Invitational, the men's 4x400-meter relay team turned in a record-breaking performance, posting a time of 3:15.81 to set a new school record. The mark now ranks second in the Peach Belt Conference this season.

The Bearcats will continue their outdoor season next weekend at the final regular season meet of the season at the Winthrop Invitational.
