AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference announced today its Track and Field Athletes of the Week. Lander Track and Field swept the women's awards and won one of the men's.
Journey Edwards (Track) and
Kaylee Spangler (Field) earned the awards on the women's side while Karson Norman won the Men's Track Athlete of the Week.
Edwards finished second in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.67, which set a new school record.
Spangler won the pole vault event with a jump of 2.70 meters in her first career outdoor meet.
And Norman ran the 400-meter dash in 48.66 seconds to win his section. He was also part of the 4x100 meter relay that placed third with a time of 42.09 seconds.
The Bearcats return to the track this weekend and will compete in the John Hunter James Classic hosted by Columbia International.
