AUGUSTA, Ga. - Lander shortstop Bella Angeli has been named the Peach Belt Conference Softball Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday. The honor marks the first of Angeli's career and the first Player of the Week selection for the Bearcats since 2024.
 

Angeli powered Lander to a three-game conference sweep over Flagler, delivering a dominant performance at the plate across the weekend.
 

The junior went 7-for-8 (.875) with five runs scored, five RBIs, two doubles, one triple, and one home run in the series. She recorded multiple hits in all three contests, including a perfect 3-for-3 outing with three RBIs and a home run in the opening game of Saturday's doubleheader.
 

In game two, Angeli followed with another 3-for-3 performance, adding two RBIs, a double, and a triple. She capped the series by scoring two runs in Sunday's 3-0 win in the series finale, helping Lander complete the sweep at Doug Spears Field.
 

On the season, Angeli ranks among the Peach Belt Conference leaders in several offensive categories, including fourth in triples (4), eighth in slugging percentage (.642), ninth in OPS (1.076), and 10th in sacrifice bunts (6).
 

She leads the Bearcats with five home runs and four triples, is tied for first with 10 doubles, and owns a team-best .655 slugging percentage. Angeli also ranks second on the team with a .371 batting average. 

Angeli and the Bearcats now turn their attention to a pivotal PBC road series at Georgia College next weekend. Lander currently sits third in the league standings, just ahead of fourth-place Georgia College, setting up a key late-season matchup with conference positioning on the line.
