FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – Lander men's lacrosse made it three wins in a row to start the 2026 campaign with a 25-4 win at Emmanuel on Wednesday night.
Brandon Perkins,
Dane Schimmel and
Carson Skinner scored three times apiece to set the pace for the Bearcats; those were the freshman Schimmel's first career goals.
This week's Peach Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week,
Matt Duarte, added two more goals tonight to push his tally to 11 on the season.
Jackson Holloway and
Chase Hanson also had two. Like Schimmel, Holloway's were the first of his career.
Ten other Bearcats had a goal against the 1-5 Lions:

Austin Hurd,

Michael Mattaliano,

Anthony Shura.
LU took 66 shots and 51 of them were on-target.
The Bearcats grabbed an 8-2 lead after the first 15-minute frame. Schimmel and Skinner each scored twice and Davis' first career goal came straight from the "X" just prior to the quarter-ending horn.
DuPree opened the second with his first career goal 1:53 into the quarter before LU went on to add six more for a 15-2 halftime advantage.
Perkins notched his first goal in just over two years (Feb. 14, 2024 at Emmanuel) to increase the LU margin to 19-2 with 10 minutes to go in the third.
Holloway bookended the fourth quarter and Hurd found the back of the net for the first time with 3:38 to play.
In goal,
Max Porterfield stopped nine shots in 30 minutes to pick up the win. Freshmen
Jimmy Moxley (four saves in 26 minutes) and
Tommy Werny also made their first appearances.
The Bearcats have a quick turnaround with a Friday night (Feb. 20) home game versus Young Harris at 7.
