Robbert Schenk Selected to Compete in World Masters Hockey World Cup

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Lander head field hockey coach Robbert Schenk has been selected to represent Team USA at the 2026 World Masters Hockey World Cup, scheduled for July 22-Aug. 1 in Schiedam, Netherlands.

Schenk earned a spot on the United States O-35 Men's Masters Team, joining 17 other players from across the country on the international roster.

He secured his place on Team USA while simultaneously leading the Lander field hockey program to the winningest season in school history at 15-4. The Bearcats also advanced to the South Atlantic Conference championship game for the second time in the program's four seasons.

"I am excited about the opportunity to represent Lander on an international stage this coming summer," Schenk said. "It was a tough training process to get through alongside coaching a truly successful team, but I'm thankful for the support of my family and the Lander administration to allow me to continue to chase dreams of playing for the U.S. national team."

Masters athletes are self-funded and cover expenses for coaching and medical staff. In support of the 2026 campaign, USA Field Hockey has launched a fundraising initiative inviting individual and corporate donations. Fans wishing to support Schenk and his teammates are encouraged to contribute directly to the O-35 team.
