The Cobras responded with wins at No. 2 and No. 4 singles. Melone defeated Barriere 7-5, 6-2 at the second spot, and Marko Pozonec rallied past Jayaprakash 0-6, 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4 to trim the deficit to 3-2.
