GAINESVILLE, Ga. – After two rounds and 36 holes of competition at the Fourth Annual UNG Mizuno Intercollegiate at Chattahoochee Golf Club, the No. 16 Lander men's golf team is currently in second place at five-under.
The Bearcats are five shots back of host and second-ranked North Georgia at -10.
No. 9 Wingate is +2 in third, No. 5 Lee is +3, and No. 10 USC Aiken rounds out the current top-five at +4. There are 10 top-25 teams in the stacked field.
Noah Curdt (-3) is showing the way for Lander after a three-under 69 in the first round. Curdt is T6 and four shots off the lead.
In his second outing as a Bearcat and first in the starting lineup,
Brady Duval (-2) scored a 70 in the first round and a 72 to finish the day. He sits tied for ninth.
Cathal Penney (E) came back from an opening-round 75 to card a 69 in Round 2 and is tied for 15th. Likewise,
Filip Yngfalk went 75-69 over his two rounds and completed the Lander scorers on Day 1.
Edward Rahm is five-over and individual
Elijah Rohas-Smith is +7.
