MARTINEZ, Ga. - Over the course of the week, the Peach Belt Conference has released the Teams of Academic Distinction for winter and spring sports which saw 52 Lander Student-Athletes honored. This is in addition to the 21 honored with the fall sports in January. Over the last four years, Lander Athletics have placed 274 student-athletes on the PBC Teams of Academic Distinction with 82 being named in 2023-24, 52 in 2022-23, and 67 in 2021-22.
During the 2024-2025 Academic Year, the Athletic Department earned a cumulative GPA of 3.31.
The Peach Belt Conference Team of Academic Distinction follows the criteria of the College Sports Communicators Academic All-American program which requires an athlete to:
1) participate in at least half of his/her team's events and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and 3) completed at least one full academic year at his or her current institution and has reached sophomore athletic eligibility. Freshman are not eligible for the honor. The Peach Belt Conference Sports Information Directors oversee the program
