Lander Student-Athletes Excel in the Classroom During Fall 2025 Semester

GREENWOOD, S.C. – Lander student-athletes continued to excel off the field during the fall 2025 semester as the Bearcats posted a 3.35 department GPA, marking the fifth straight semester the department has recorded a GPA above 3.30.

In total, 582 student-athletes finished the fall term with a GPA above 3.0, representing 76% of the department, while 155 student-athletes earned a perfect 4.0 GPA.

A total of 25 of Lander's 27 athletic teams finished the semester with a cumulative team GPA above 3.0. Women's Tennis led the department with a 3.83 team GPA, followed by Women's Golf (3.75) and Men's Tennis (3.71).

Men's Soccer led the department with 54 student-athletes earning a GPA of 3.0 or higher, followed by Women's Soccer with 52 and Baseball with 50. Baseball and Men's Soccer tied for the most student-athletes with a perfect 4.0 GPA at 15 each, while Men's Lacrosse (13), Women's Lacrosse (12), and Women's Soccer (10) also recorded double-digit totals.

"We are proud of the academic accomplishments of our student-athletes," said Lander Athletics Director Brian Reese. "Posting a department GPA above 3.3 for five consecutive semesters is a testament to our student-athletes, coaches, and support staff, all of whom play an important role in putting our student-athletes in the best position to succeed."
