Bearcats Sweep Pacers on the Road to Avenge Early-Season Loss

AIKEN, S.C. - The Lander volleyball team flipped the script Friday night, earning redemption in convincing fashion with a 3-0 sweep (25-22, 25-23, 25-13) over USC Aiken at the Convocation Center.

The win marks Lander's fifth conference victory of the season and avenges an earlier 0-3 home loss to the Pacers. With the result, the Bearcats improve to 13-7 overall and 5-3 in Peach Belt Conference play, while USC Aiken falls to 10-11 (3-5 PBC).

After two tightly contested opening sets, Lander seized all momentum in the third—hitting a blistering .417 while holding the Pacers to a .000 clip. The Bearcats' balance and efficiency at the net proved the difference, finishing with 45 kills to Aiken's 33 and holding a 68-56 advantage in digs.

Senior standout Katie Miller once again led the charge with 15 kills, three aces, and seven digs, while Ryleigh Willard added 10 kills on an impressive .526 hitting percentage. Karson Browning was close behind with nine kills and a .471 mark.

Setter Enisilina Savelio directed the attack with 36 assists and added two blocks, while libero Emmi Cheek anchored the defense with a match-high 23 digs. Amelia May led the blocking front with four, helping the Bearcats tally six total team blocks.

Lander dictated the pace from start to finish, hitting .294, .209, and .417 in each set while stifling USC Aiken's attack to just .192, .158, and .000.

Lander is back in action Saturday, Oct. 25, returning to Aiken for the third match of the series against the Pacers. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m.
