Lander Athletics Hurricane Helene Updates

UPDATE (10/7): Athletics Events will resume in full on October 10th.

UPDATE (10/3): With the announcement that the Lander University campus will be closed through Wednesday, October 9th, all Lander Athletics events between now and October 9th have been postponed.

UPDATE (9/30): With the announcement that the Lander University campus will be closed until Sunday, October 6th, all Lander Athletics events between now and Sunday have been postponed.

GREENWOOD - Due to the impacts on Hurricane Helene on the Lander Campus and the Greenwood Community, the campus of Lander University is closed until further notice. As of the afternoon of Sunday, September 28th, classes are cancelled until at least Wednesday, October 2nd. Because of this, Lander Athletics event scheduled for next week have been impacted. All home events until Thursday, October 3rd have been postponed.

This article will be updated with makeup dates and other postponements as they happen.

Lander Campus Updates

The Men's and Women's Tennis teams will still compete at the ITA Southeast Regional Championship in Sumter, S.C.
The Men's Soccer game at Georgia Southwestern is still on as scheduled for a 7:00 PM kick.
The Men's and Women's Cross Country teams will not compete at the Akiah McMillan Invitational
The Women's Rugby match against Florida State has been postponed and will be rescheduled at a date to be determined. The Men's Rugby match against Charlotte has been postponed and will also be rescheduled at a date to be determined.
The Field Hockey match at Wingate is postponed until October 10th.
The Volleyball match at USC Aiken has been postponed and will be made up at a date to be determined.
The Bearcat Fall Classic Men's Golf Tournament scheduled for 9/30 and 10/1 in Greenville, S.C. has been cancelled
Both the Lander Field Hockey Game vs Limestone and the Women's Soccer game that was rescheduled from Saturday against Columbus State have each been postponed.
The Field Hockey game is now scheduled to take place on October 31st at Frank Hill Stadium.
The Volleyball matches against Mount Olive and Francis Marion in Florence, S.C. have been canceled with no make up at this time.
The Men's Soccer match at USC Aiken has been postponed and will be made up at a later date
The Volleyball match vs Augusta has been rescheduled for Saturday, Oct. 12 at 6:00 p.m.
The Lander Invitational hosted by the Women's Tennis team has been canceled.
The Field Hockey match at Mount Olive has been postponed and will be made up at a later date.
The Volleyball match vs Georgia College & State University has been postponed and will be made up at a later date.
The Women's Tennis Lander Invitational has been canceled.
The Men's Soccer match at home against Clayton State has been rescheduled for Saturday, Nov. 2 at 3:30 p.m. The Women's Soccer match at North Georgia has been postponed and will be rescheduled for a later date.
The Women's Rugby match against the University of Florida has been postponed and will be rescheduled at a date to be determined. The Men's Rugby match against North Carolina has been postponed and will also be rescheduled at a date to be determined.
