GAINESVILLE, Ga. – Following a two-day, three-round tournament at Chattahoochee Golf Club, the Lander men's golf team wound up sixth on the leaderboard at -1 for the week.
Victor Larsson (-7) was sixth individually and named to the All-Tournament team.
Lee University won the tournament at -30 by two shots over host North Georgia. West Florida (-20) was third.
The aforementioned Larsson improved over every round with scores of 71, 70 and 68 while totaling 11 birdies throughout the tournament.
Aaron Lin, competing as an individual, was -1 in a 30th place tie with rounds of 71, 69 and 75 with 11 birdies.
Gaston Edberg tied with teammates
Edward Rahm and
Jake Wakeford as the Bearcats' second-best scorer at 2-over with a three-round score of 218 and five birdies.
Rahm had his best round of the tournament today with a 1-under 71 that included four birdies. Combined with his three-birdie first round and four-birdie second, Rahm tied for the team lead in the category with 11.
Wakeford also put together his low-round of the tournament in the final round with a 2-under 70. Wakeford had three birdies in each of his last two rounds.
Individual competitor
Noah Curdt was 14-over, one shot ahead of
Cody Brenner. Curdt carded seven birdies, and Brenner, four.
The Bearcats host the Bearcat Fall Classic next week (Sept. 30 and Oct. 1) at The Preserve at Verdae in Greenville, S.C.
