Liam Worley Hired as Head Fishing Coach

GREENWOOD - Athletic Director Brian Reese announced today that Liam Worley has been named the second head coach of the Lander Bass Fishing Program. Worley served as the graduate assistant last season for the Bearcat Anglers and was a four-year member of the team himself.

"We are excited to have Liam join our staff and head the Bass Fishing program he was a part of as both an angler and a coach," said Reese. "We are excited to see him carry the momentum of the program that he helped build"

The Orangeburg, S.C. native graduated from Lander with his Bachelors in Business Administration in May of 2023 before finishing his MBA at Lander this summer. As the graduate assistant last season, Worley helped oversee the Lander Bass Fishing program as they became perennial top team in the country with their second consecutive top-ten national finish in the 2023-24 season.

As an athlete, Worley was part of the team that transitioned from a club team to being under the athletic department umbrella.

"I'm pumped to be able to be a head coach at my Alma Mater and the program I was a part of," said Worley. "I'm excited to get started and continue the momentum this program is on!"
