AUGUSTA, Ga. - The Lander men's golf team opened up the 2023-24 season, finishing in third place in the Bearcat Fall Invitational held at Forest Lakes Golf Club in Augusta, Ga. The Bearcats shot a three-round score of 855 and finished behind North Georgia and Columbus State.
The Bearcats shot one over (289) and sat in ninth after the first round on Monday. Linus Jonsson led the way with a -1 under 71 and was tied for ninth.
The Bearcats shot up the leader board in the second round, shooting eight-under (280), and sat in fourth place after day one, two shots behind USC Aiken.
Lander would shoot a final-round score of 286 to finish one shot ahead of the Pacers.
Jonsson finished with a score of 208 to finish eight-under and tied for second. Edward Rahm shot 209 to finish tied for fifth, Ludvig Eriksson tied for 16th at 213, and Victor Larsson shot 214 to finish tied for 18th.
Gaston Edberg shot 219, Yamato Kimura shot 222, Aaron Lin shot 227, and Luke Hammond shot 228.
