GREENWOOD - The Lander baseball team along with head coach Jason Burke is pleased to announce the next wave of Bearcats that'll look to battle come the 2024 season.

Ethan Califf (RHP - Wade Hampton HS - Taylors, S.C.)
A 3x All-Region pitcher, he was also been named All-State and the 2023 Region Pitcher of the Year.

Jake Larson (LHP - Allen D Nease HS - Ponte Vedra, Fla.)
A lefty from Ponte Verda, Fla. He was nominated for the 2022 USA Today HS Player of the Year in Northeast Florida.

Tyler Nemtuda ( LHP - Florence Darlington Tech - Chesterton, Ind.)
A transfer from Florence Darlington Tech, Tyler posted a K/9 of 10.05 with the Stingers.

Paul Abolafia Jr. (RHP/INF - Pembroke Pines Charter - Pembroke Pines, Fla.)
He was named the 2023 all-district hitter of the year, all-district 3B and 2023 all-county first team as a pitcher.

Jake Wagner (INF - Sussex CC - Frendon, N.J.)
Was named to the NJCAA DII All-Region XIX 2023 First Team.

Kael Snethen (INF - Cleveland CC - Rutherfordton, N.C.)
Kael was a First-Team all-conference selection and an NJCAA Region 10 All-Academic selection. He also led Region 10 in stolen bases.

Jarren Metcalf (INF - Chapman HS - Campobello, S.C.)
A 2x All-Region selection, Jarren was also named All-State and was a participant in the 2022 Palmetto games.

Logan Kobis (C/INF - Sussex CC - Branchville, N.J.)
Leading Sussex County CC in hits and triples this past season, Logan was named 1st Team All-Region in 2023, 2nd Team All-Region in 2022 and was a Silver Slugger.

Taichi Nakao (INF - Southeastern CC - Auckland, New Zealand)
Taichi comes from Southeastern CC in Iowa where he was named to the NJCAA Region XI All-Region 2nd Team. He was also named the 2022 ICCAC D2 Defensive Player of the Year.

Matthew Slaton (INF/RHP - Pendleton HS - Pendleton, S.C.)
Matthew was named to the All-Region Team in 2022 and 2023 along with being named All-State in 2023.

Sam Czyz (INF/PHP - Clover HS - Clover, S.C.)
Sam was a Region III 5A All-Region selection in 2022 and 2023.

Brayden Davidson (INF - College of Charleston, Gaffney, S.C.)
A transfer from the College of Charleston, he was also named the NJCAA Region X Player of the Year and was an NJCAA All-American while at Florence-Darlington in 2022.

Adam Love (OF - Georgia Highlands CC - Roswell, Ga.)
Adam hit .375 last season and had four triples and five home runs as well. He was also named to the All-Conference 2nd team in 2023.

Richie Cortese (RHP/INF - Dickinson State - Laurel, Mont.)
A transfer from Dickinson State, Cortese saw action as a two-way player. He hit. 261 with 30 hits, eight doubles, three triples, four home runs and 20 RBI. On the bump, he threw 30 innings with a K/9 of 11.40 in 13 appearances. He finished the season with opposing hitters hitting just .124 against him.
