MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Lander dominated Georgia College & State University 3-0 Friday night for their 26th win, breaking the program record for wins in a season.  

The Bobcats jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first set, but a kill by Katie Miller started a 7-0 run by Lander to give them the lead. Georgia College would slowly chip away at the deficit and make it a one-point Lander lead at 13-12. A service error by the Bobcats and a kill by Miller would give the Bearcats a 15-12 lead. Lander would take an 18-13 lead with two kills from Olivia Dow and another service error by the Bobcats, and the Bearcats would go on to a 25-20 win.

Lander would race by Georgia College in the second set 25-15 and the third set 25-12 to complete the sweep of the Bobcats to pick up their record-breaking win. The Bearcats hit an amazing .437 as a team while holding Georgia College to a .211 hitting percentage. 

Olivia Dow led the Bearcats with 14 kills and hit .684, and Katie Miller had 13 kills and hit .500 to go with four aces. Lauren Dow dished out a game-high 43 assists, while Patricia Pantoja finished with 11 digs to lead all players. Christina Aguayo and Lauren Dow each had three aces, and Blondie Penaflor led the Bearcats with three blocks. 

Lander will return to action next week as they battle Augusta on Thursday and Friday for the regular season Peach Belt Championship.
