AUGUSTA, Ga. – In a battle of the top two teams in the Peach Belt, Augusta defeated Lander 3-2 Thursday night, setting up a winner-take-all match in Horne Arena tomorrow night for the regular season title. 

Augusta won the first set 25-22, but Lander would respond in the second set to win 25-20 to tie the match up. The Jaguars took the third set 25-14. The Bearcats tied the match at two with a 25-23 win, forcing a fifth and deciding set. Augusta would hold on to win 15-11 to move into a tie with Lander for first place. 

Katie Miller led Lander with 17 kills, while Oliva Dow and Annie Holesinger finished with 12. Patricia Pantoja and Miller each had 22 digs, while Lauren Dow led all players with 48 assists. Christina Aguayo finished the match with 16 digs. 

The two teams will meet in the series rubber match tomorrow at 6:00 PM in Horne Arena, with the winner clinching the PBC Regular Season Championship and the top seed in the tournament.
